Everything has it’s wonders
One idea I’ve been super challenged on lately is being content in every season and seeking out its wonder. When I came home from Sydney I was pretty devastated, I had planned to be there for the next 4 years at least and neck-min, I’m back in Canada.
What the heck?! That wasn’t the plan! Why did this happen?
It’s so easy for us to have these expectations for our lives, where we want to be by what age; what we want to have accomplished by this time etc. Often those plans don’t happen though, or they happen differently than we anticipate.
Helen Keller was the first woman who was deaf & blind to earn a bachelors of arts degree. She was deaf & blind and yet she didn’t allow that to define how she lived her life. I love this quote by her; “Everything has its wonders, even darkness and silence, and I learn, whatever state I may be in, therein to be content.”
All of us have had our different experiences, pain, hurt, abandonment, joy, excitement, but it’s up to us to decide how we will handle the experiences that have been handed to us. When life is awesome and your killing it or when life isn’t exactly what we expect. Finding hope, peace and wonder in every season will shape your character into a girl you’ve never met. Trust the process.
If we’re always looking ahead or behind we will miss the wonder in the now.
